Welcome to Dave Saunders History!

The place for all things that were Dave.

Who am I?

Who Am I? Well, that truly is the question, isn't it? Who are any of us, really? The scope of that answer is too much for this particular blurb but I may give it a shot at some point. I suppose I should just start with the basics.

My name is Dave Saunders and I am a singer and guitar player from Chester County, Pennsylvania in the good old U-S-of-A. I perform primarily in bars and at private events playing an eclectic mix of tunes from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's with a smattering (yes, I said 'smattering') of tunes from the 40's 50's and the aughts and teens of the new century. I have been doing this for a long time. My first bar gig was around March 6, 1982, at a Ground Round near Wilmington, DE. I wasn't very good.

Since then, however, I have performed a few thousand gigs with friends and by myself and so have gotten fairly decent at what I do. Some of my favorite musical areas to cover are The Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Johnny Cash, some classic country and the list goes on. I have also written or co-written a fair number of tunes which I will break out from time to time. Many of those can be found in the media section of this website.

I enjoy live performance most and so I hope I will see you at a gig sometime. Check out my coming events here.

I play out with several variations of acts now. I still do primarily solo acts but there are 3 different duos that I play with and each has a larger format band that is around it. In order of length of existence they are: John & Dave, Train Robber's Syndicate and less frequently The Savants from The Boogie Dogs.
